Oakland Township Kicks Off 2025-2029 Parks, Recreation, and Land Preservation Master Plan Activities

Oakland Township welcomes everyone’s help in shaping the goals, objectives and projects in the Township’s 2025 – 2029 Parks, Recreation, and Land Preservation Master Plan. Complete our survey, attend the June 6th Master Plan Open House (there will be snacks!), and stop in to see us at the Music in the Meadows concert series this summer! Keep reading to see more information below.

The public is invited to participate in several ways:

  1. During May and June, participate in an Online Study  at www.CobaltCommunityResearch.org/OT or if you prefer, print a paper copy from the same web address.  This study will help establish priorities for future acquisition, development, operation, and management of parks, recreation facilities, natural areas, and programs in the community.
  2. Drop in to the Master Plan Open House:  Thursday June 6th between 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Oakland Township Hall, 4393 Collins Road.  The review and discussion of the proposed 5-year master plan will be facilitated by professional parks and recreation planners from Carlisle Wortman Associates.  This open house will give everyone the opportunity to comment on improvements proposed for more than 10 Township parks including new trails, playgrounds, docks,  multi-use playing courts, habitat restoration, vehicular parking, and restrooms.
  3. Visit the Master Plan Table at Music in the Meadows Friday evening outdoor summer concerts on June 14, July 19 and August 16 to share your opinions.  See the Parks and Recreation page of Township website (www.oaklandtownship.org) for all concert information.
  4. Attend monthly Parks and Recreation Commission Meetings to share your opinions.  Every month the Commission meets on the second Wednesday at the Oakland Township Hall, 4393 Collins Road.

We look forward to speaking with everyone and receiving suggestions.
